Pick the closest one to you
Salt reaches about a mile inland, inland valleys run hot, and housing age varies enormously across the county. All three change what fails on your door and how soon.
Chula Vista
South Bay. Older housing west of the 805, Eastlake and Otay Ranch to the east, and the two fail in completely different ways.
Chula Vista →Oceanside
North Coastal. Distance from the water is the single biggest factor in how long springs and cables last here.
Oceanside →Escondido
North Inland. The widest range of housing ages in the county, from 1880s historic homes to 2000s tracts.
Escondido →Carlsbad
North Coastal. Salt west of the 5, newer tracts inland, and a lot of wide doors that flex because nobody strutted them.
Carlsbad →El Cajon
East County. Dense 1960s to 1980s housing plus the hottest summers in the county, which is hard on opener electronics.
El Cajon →La Jolla
Coastal. Salt lands on hardware daily rather than occasionally, and a lot of the doors are custom.
La Jolla →Encinitas
North Coastal. Beach cottages in Leucadia and Cardiff, larger parcels and gates inland in Olivenhain.
Encinitas →Poway
Inland North. Larger lots and long private driveways, so as much gate work as garage door work.
Poway →Not on the list
We cover more than these eight
These are the cities with their own page so far. We work across San Diego and the surrounding area, which includes plenty of places not listed above: National City, Coronado, Imperial Beach, Santee, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Lakeside, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, Carmel Valley, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, San Marcos, Vista, Fallbrook and Ramona among them.
If you are not sure whether you are in range, call or text with your cross streets. We will tell you straight away rather than sending someone out and charging for the drive.
